Now That’s Just Wasteful!

I can’t get over this.

Today, I went to Neighborhood Market (Walmart grocery store), bought nine items, and they used three bags.  Because, obviously, the average person can only carry three small items in each sack!

I thought that was wasteful…before I went to Taco Bell.

They gave me two sporks, four napkins, and twenty packets of hot sauce!

*#$^#*&%$*^#%#$^@*$&#%^#$*@$^#*&$

I didn’t even order anything that needed a spork, let alone a red sea of hot.

But perhaps I shouldn’t think of them as twenty packets of hot sauce so much as one bowl of spicy soup.

…and I’m just putting off my work for class tomorrow.  I wonder if procrastination blogging will become a common thing for me every Wednesday.

Oh right, I’m taking two upper-level history classes.  I start off my Thursday evenings with U.S. Foreign Relations Since 1917, then wind down with a bit of Black Intellectual History.  They’re both great, but also very needy of my time out of class.  I enjoy (for now) being the student once more.  But as the student, I should really get back to that work I’ve still gotta do!

Ech.

Ohhh Internet!

After two months without internet at home, I am finally able to say that I am once more hooked up to the modern lifestyle.  And, minus the muddy footprints left by the cable guy in my room, all is good with the world!

There have been some immediate negative consequences to having internet (and I’ve only had it for the past half hour!).  I am now able to see all the minute by minute status updates that my ex (stupid facebook) has posted.  I am also blogging instead of finishing up an assignment paper and about a hundred pages of good ol’ 19th century reading (yay) for my two history courses I take on Thursday evenings.

Stuff for my next blog, though, since I really should be getting back to work.

But man, I’m just so happy I can once again hide away from society and bask in the cold glow of my laptop’s selfish love.

And having pandora working again (now that I’m out of Japan) isn’t half bad, either.
