November Crunch Upon Me
October 26, 2008 on 3:07 am | In Everything | No CommentsI’ve finished all my midterms, for better or worse, and it’s already time to think ahead to the next bit of time-crunch horror: November!!!
November will bring with it 5 papers, E.C., and 2 BIG papers for one class, and a term paper for another. That’s over 50 pages (HOW is this going to get done?).
Luckily, I have 1,274 pages to read in order to have all the info for all those papers. Well, that…minus the research needed for the term paper.
So HOW am I supposed to do NaNoWriMo at the same time?!?
Deep magic!
NaNoWriMo
October 20, 2008 on 4:31 pm | In Everything | 3 CommentsI have also gone ahead and signed up for NaNoWriMo this year (as can be attested to by yet another sidebar addition).
National Novel Writing Month is in November, and fast approaching. While I’m uncertain that I’ll want to write anything (let alone the 50,000 words for the NaNoWriMo challenge) after dealing with the multiple history papers due next month, I will still try.
And if I fall behind, no one will notice if I slip a term paper or two in the word count!
Oohoohoohoohoohoo!
A New Pic
October 20, 2008 on 3:35 pm | In Everything | 2 CommentsNothing has been going on here AT ALL besides classes.
Terribly dry stuff.
I killed a bit of time, however, by making an avatar at the FaceYourManga site (for some reason, I had to fight the site to get it to talk to me in English).

*in your face!*
It’s my new site pic…for now.
In between school work, I’m busy editing away at my latest book project. It’s such a hassle, and am still trying to figure out how best to convert blog format into page format. There are so many things that need to be worked around, like the quotation bubbles, pertinent links, etc. Not sure whether to modify them in Word, or to be very liberal with screen captures.
Sooo, yeah. That’s my story!
Phoenix Rising? Perhaps.
October 8, 2008 on 2:54 am | In Everything | No CommentsIn my efforts to figure out how to re-start this website that had been created solely to chronicle my experiences in Japan, I have thought of many things. Most were all surface fluff like changing the theme or banner, because it’s just so much easier than a complete overhaul. And it’s possible I’ll still do something along those lines.
But now I’m having grander plans.
And one may soon be done (well, after midterms are out of the way, at least).
I’m going to take my favorite posts and compile them into a book. No, I’m not planning on selling it or anything crazy times like that. I’m thinking that it’ll be more of a closure deal for my past two years. And what a time killer it could be flipping through that book! I know I’ve wasted some serious time when I’ve done something as innocent as looking up an old post to link to a newer one, only to realize HOURS later that I’ve continued to read the back logs.
The ’07 graduation post has been the biggest culprit for my time wasting. Still probably my all-time fave. I’d link to it, but there would be another few hours wasted again. Just search “graduation”.
So anyways, I will let you guys know when (if?) I complete this project. Afterward, I may relegate my Japan blog to an archives section and start anew. Or I will switch sites completely! This site is actually a secondary one. I have a main site that I have never used, but it wasn’t until after I already had it that I chose this one (but the unused one is my primary, so I never got rid of it). But I really like the name… “teasmartgarden”! It’s unique, and 100% me.
I’ll let you know as soon as I, myself, know.
Right, and I’ll be printing out the book through Lulu‘s publishing website. Unless any of you have better ideas? My only concern, which should be answered by looking a bit deeper, is whether they end up having some kind of disclaimer where whatever is published through them keeps me from publishing the same stuff later through some other company. I don’t really know yet. Which is why I won’t yet be sending them that Great American Novel I’ve been sitting on (harhar, no, this is total lies…*sigh*).
Other than that, though?
Nothing’s been going on in my life besides midterms (coming up!!!), out-of-state tuition that fills me with hopeless-deep-despair, and woes of a girl constantly on the move.
Oh yeah, and I was given a ride home last night by a cop!
So, to sum up my past week for you:
- Thursday: That sucks.
- Friday: That sucks.
- Saturday: That sucks.
- Sunday: That sucks.
- Monday: Cop car ride! Wee!
