Who?
In order to freely blog about my day-to-day life while still respecting the privacy of people (you’ll never meet), I have given certain repeat blogged-abouts their own nicknames. So, to keep you from going, “who’s that again?”, here’s my own little nickname reference page.
My (The) Gang
- A group of third-year too-cool-for-school boys who were always in the hallways and perfectly willing to surround me at a moment’s notice with their massive amounts of members. Always kept third-year classes interesting…that’s for sure. They were usually in groups of five to seven kids, so was very surprised when I counted thirteen of them during the graduation photo I took of them. They were the main reason I got all weepy after graduation. I miss those bad-asses!
Infatuated Boy
- The #1 harrasser of Charity from The Gang…sometimes so much so that the other members would get bored and want to do something else while he was still fully engrossed in the bugging of Charity. Became “infatuated” after I returned his attitude *scroll down a bit in the link* in class one day. His favorite phrases were “charitycharitycharity” and “ouch!!!”.
Sweet Boy
- A second-year who gets really happy every time I talk to him. Like, giddy-happy. It’s so adorable! I made him cry the first time I really met him as a first-year during a game. Apparently my fixing something random on his homework while I was walking around class redeemed me in his eyes, because ever since then…Sweet Boy! He has trouble staying awake in class, and writes his class notes in such an excruciatingly detailed manner that I spend a lot of time discreetly waking him up and then making him write faster. One time he was so far gone, I actually took his notes from him when the bell rang and wrote the rest down (he still had half to go!).
Crazy Girl
- This second-year girl is loud and out there! Every time she sees me in the hallway, she acts all crazy hyper, and laughs all crazy-like and slaps me on my shoulders REALLY HARD if I do something to humor her (which is about everything). She likes to call me over during individual work time during class, then just asks me random questions that have nothing to do with her work. We like to high-five in the hallways. Because we’re cool. I also know her mom.
Pokey Girl
- Makes me run away in fear every time she sees me and gets that gleam in her eye. Her favorite activity is poking me in the cheek or sides. Actually, though, she, along with Loud Girl, like to chit chat with me *me in English, they in Japanese* in the halls.
‘Baito
- A worker at the Lawson closest to me. We have an odd acquaintancy due to an incident where I mistakenly gave him a shout-out at a Joyfull. Now we’re always cheerful to each other. He was originally called ‘Baito because of the multiple places he worked, though now I think he works only at the Lawson. He has a pimp stationwagon.
Kristen
- …is Kristen, aka Kraygk, aka my friend near Fukuoka City where I spend many a weekend, and many a money. We scared her high school students with the ultrasonic speed of our talking once. She is the reason for my high phone bill.
“The Three Stooges” aka “The Boys”
- “The Three Stooges” are three specific ALTs who congregate in my town to hang out. Though there is now a new ALT in the town next door, and another person who also hangs out with them, they do not yet have the infamy that those three do to me. “The Boys” can be applied to all of them, though.
